Three Piece Suits

A canny suit is an essential component of a man’s wardrobe. It can build a neat and polished look if you're heading off to an important business meeting, or it can help you be at your best as you're about to say "I do" at the top of the aisle.

One of the most important aspects of looking so good is undoubtedly the fit. So, before investing in a new suit, it's vital to know how to determine your suit size for both the jacket and trousers before making that big purchase decision.

Chest Measurement

To measure your chest accurately, follow these steps:

  1. Put the measuring tape below your arms and wrap it around the widest part of your back and across your chest.
  2. Make sure not to pull the tape too tightly against your chest. Keep it comfortably snug.
  3. Leave some space between your chest and the tape. About 2 to 3 fingers' worth of movement should be there.
  4. By following these instructions, you can get a measurement that will help you find a well-fitting and comfortable size for clothing.
If you are between sizes, we would recommend going for the larger of the two.

Model measures 39.5", so a 40R jacket is recommended.

Waist Measurement

To measure your waist accurately, follow these steps:

  1. Wrap the measuring tape around your waist where your trouser waistband sits.
  2. Make sure the tape is firm but not overly tight.
  3. Keep in mind that waist measurements may vary between different clothing manufacturers, so it's an important measurement to consider.
If you are between sizes, we would recommend going for the larger of the two.

Model measures 32" so 32R trousers are recommended.

Inside Leg Measurement

To measure your inside leg accurately, follow these steps:

  1. Wear your trousers at the usual position and consider where you want them to rest on your shoes.
  2. Place the tape measure on top of your inside leg and measure down to the desired hemline.
  3. Make sure the tape measure is pulled tightly along the inside leg to determine the correct length 4. Taking this precise measurement will help ensure a perfect fit for your trousers, giving you a polished and elegant look.
If you are between sizes, we would recommend going for the larger of the two.

Model measures 30" so a regular length is recommended.

Shirts

To get your perfect shirt fit, you'll need your collar size, chest size and sleeve length.

Collar Size (1)

The neck measurement is absolutely vital for a men's shirt. It's extremely important that you give yourself enough room for comfort.

To get the right measurement, you should first wrap a tape measure around your neck and add half an inch to ensure a comfortable fit. Alternatively, you can put one or two fingers between your neck and the tape to ensure breathing room once the collar is buttoned.

Sleeve Length (2)

It's a common misconception that your sleeve length is simply the length of your arm. An easy way to find an accurate measurement is to instead measure from the point on your spine where your neck meets your shoulders. Run the tape along the top of your shoulder and down to the wrist. You should measure only to the point where you want the cuff of the shirt sleeve to rest.

Like with the collar size, you should add a little extra to ensure freedom of movement and comfort.

If you are between sizes, always go for the next size up to ensure comfort.

Chest Size (3)

To ensure precision, the measuring tape should be positioned below the arms, encompassing the broadest region of the back, and across the chest. It is essential to avoid compressing the tape to the chest, leaving ample room for two to three fingers' worth of movement underneath. This practice guarantees a bespoke, snug fit without the discomfort of constriction.
